Yawa Djigbodi TSEGAN
Parliament Member of UNIR from Kloto-Kpélé and first woman to head the Togolese National Assembly,
Born on August 5, 1971 in Kpélé-Agavé, Mrs. Yawa Djigbodi TSEGAN is a lawyer specialized in Business Law.
A committed politician, and Treasurer General in the national office of the great party Union for the Republic (UNIR), Yawa Djigbodi TSEGAN is since January 2019, the very first woman elected President at the head of the Togolese National Assembly.
Her entry into parliament as a member of parliament following her political formation, dates back to the 5th legislature where she held the position of first financial officer from 2013 to 2018.
Professionally, Yawa Djigbodi TSEGAN served as Chief of Staff of the Minister of Transport from October 2010 to August 2013 in Togo.
Prior to this position, she served, from October 2003 to October 2010, successively in several positions at the Ministry of Economy and Finance as Director of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Director of Administration, Organization and Support Services (OSS).
Yawa Djigbodi TSEGAN obtained a Master's degree in Business Law in 1995 from the University of Benin in Lomé, and in 2007, a diploma of Tax Inspector from the National Tax School (ENI) in Clermont-Ferrand, France.
Elected with 88 votes out of 89 deputies during the 6th legislature, the very first woman President of Parliament in Togo, is very sensitive to women's empowerment issues and takes at heart projects regarding the promotion of young girls.
