TOGO'S FIRST HIGHLIGHT FOR THE EQUALITY GENERATION: AN INSPIRING INTERGENERATIONAL DIALOGUE BETWEEN TOGO'S YOUNG GIRLS AND WOMEN LEADERS
High Level Dialogue between Women Leaders and Young Girls of Togo
As part of the celebration of the International Women's Day (March 8) whose theme this year is: Female Leadership - For an Equal Future in the World of COVID-19, a high level hybrid dialogue was organized by UNFPA, Leading TFP for Gender in partnership with Plan International Togo under the leadership of the Ministry of Social Action, Promotion of Women and Literacy.
This dialogue allowed women leaders, ministers, ambassadors and deputies to exchange with young girls from all regions of Togo.
Opening the session, Mrs. Adjovi Lolonyo APEDOH ANAKOMA, Minister of Social Action, Promotion of Women and Literacy Maspfa Togo welcomed the reinforcement of women's representation in the highest decision-making spheres of Togo like the government, the National Assembly, the HCRRUN and the CNDH which are headed by distinguished and brave women.
The intergenerational dialogue aims to strengthen the leadership of girls by initiating a framework of interactions with women leaders to draw inspiration from their experiences, discuss the challenges related to feminist leadership and deconstruct false beliefs about the inability of women to assume positions that have been reserved for men.
